Tigers defeat Pope Prep in exciting fashion!
Hattie Bishop '29 scores a walk-off PK to give the Tigers the win.
What a wild game! The Tigers dominated the first half. We earned a free kick well outside the 18 yd box and Hattie Bishop '30 stepped up to take it. She shot with pace and the goal keeper wasn't able to handle the ball and it trickled in over her head to put us up 1-0. Sydney Lasher followed up with a fast break, defeating the back line of Pope and finished her shot to put us up 2-0. Not long after, Maya Arsovski '30 dribbled around several defenders and got a shot off that squeaked by the goal keeper to put us up 3-0 going into the break.
The second half was a different story! Pope was able to answer with three goals of their own and we found ourselves with a tied game with less than a minute to play. With less than 30 seconds to play, the Tigers had gotten themselves into the Knight's 18 yd box and popped the ball up and earned a PK on a handball call against Pope.
Hattie Bishop stepped up to take the PK and shot with a lot of pace, but the keeper was able to make a deflecting save. Hattie had the awareness to follow her shot and buried the rebound for the goal! Game over! Tigers win 4-3!
