Johnsie Dawkins '28 scores a hustle goal to get the Tigers on the board.
It was a perfect day at the River Campus as the Tigers took on the Knights from Pope Prep. It was an even game from the start with both teams having chances on goal, making good passing patterns up the field, and challenging the goal keepers.
There were some close calls on both ends of the field but the game remained scoreless at the end of the first half. The focus coming out of halftime was to be goal hungry and really working together to be more aggressive offensively.
Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Natalie Choe '28 beat her defenders down the line and earned a corner kick for the team. Natalie took the corner kick for our team, kept it in play and found Kenzie Burke '29 in the middle who got the ball to Johnsie Dawkins '28 who muscled her way into the goal to put the Tigers up 1-0.
The rest of the half was still back and forth and the Knights had a few solid chances with dangerous crosses. After a few lucky breaks for the Tigers defensive line, the Knights were able to finish a nice cross in front of the goal to get the equalizing goal.
