Week of August 28

After a week of no tennis due to unplayable conditions with the heat index, the MS boys tennis team resumed action this week.  On Tuesday (8/29), the boys traveled to Lipscomb.  Our teams’ veterans led the way with a 5-0 record winning all three singles matches (Max Parker ‘29, Krish Nachnani ‘28 & Oliver Stahl ‘29) and two doubles matches (Loch McMillan ‘28 and Will Nichols ‘28, Vihaan Sinha ‘29 and Matthew Golann ‘29).  All 24 players on the team saw action and were able to get valuable match experience.

The boys had a quick turnaround and played JPII yesterday at River Campus.  Newcomers Barry Chen ‘30, Carter Kojetin ‘29 and Adrian Hufford ‘30 battled Popes top seeds while the doubles teams shined again led by Sinha/Golann and Meade Kelley ‘29 and Preston Chan ‘29.

The MS Boys Tennis team started their AA competition last Thursday (8/31) against Ensworth.  Top seeds Max Parker '29 and Krish Nachnani '28 played inspiring tennis and won both of their matches.  Newcomer Allen Chen filled in the 3 seed against one of Ensworth's best and our doubles teams competed to the very end.  USN fell to Ensworth 2-3.    We were able to also feature several exhibition matches at Ensworth's High School Tennis Center (mainly doubles) featuring Preston Chan '29 and Meade Kelley '29, Alex Klein and William Tong (both '28), and Eli Shuster and Kieran Carney '28s.
