University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers Drops Game to Battle Ground Academy Varsity Wildcats ‘23 After Late Score

University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers lost the lead late in a 7-4 defeat to Battle Ground Academy Varsity Wildcats ‘23 on Monday.  The game was tied at four with Battle Ground Academy Varsity Wildcats ‘23 batting in the top of the seventh when Brax Templin singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
 
University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers lost despite out-hitting Battle Ground Academy Varsity Wildcats ‘23 nine to eight.
 
University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers got on the board in the first inning when Owen Block singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
 
Jake Bertorello earned the victory on the mound for Battle Ground Academy Varsity Wildcats ‘23. The righty lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out seven.  Mason Morris threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Morris recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Battle Ground Academy Varsity Wildcats ‘23.
 
Mahoney Daunic took the loss for University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers. The righthander lasted six and a third innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out six and walking one.
 
University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers socked one home run on the day. Block went for the long ball in the fifth inning.
 
University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers racked up nine hits in the game.  Block, Dylan Washko, and Alexander Peck all had multiple hits for University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers.  Peck, Washko, and Block each managed two hits to lead University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers.
 
Battle Ground Academy Varsity Wildcats ‘23 tallied eight hits in the game.  Templin and Austin Cheney all collected multiple hits for Battle Ground Academy Varsity Wildcats ‘23.
