Taking a break from their normal, day-to-day activities at University School of Nashville, Director of Enrollment Scott Collins and Director of College Counseling Aaron Fulk delivered thought-provoking presentations on Friday, September 19 at the Enrollment Management Association’s Annual Conference in Austin, Texas.
During the conference, Collins shared insights on how USN has used surveys to inform the school's admissions practices. Using survey data from families who applied to USN, the admissions office was able to take those findings and adjust its approach for the following school year's admissions cycle. This included recruiting prospective families, retaining current families, and welcoming every family each year to the USN community.
While Collins was providing attendees with information on how the school utilizes survey data to inform best practices, Fulk spoke about how the college counseling office was redefining ROI for families as they navigate the complex world of college admissions. Throughout the presentation, Fulk guided attendees on how to refocus the conversation about the value of a school to current and prospective families away from the college matriculation list to how schools like USN prepare students for well-being and success in college and life beyond college.

The Quiz Bowl team traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky, to face several top teams from across the country at this year's South Warren Tournament. USN's second-place finish earned the team an invitation to the National Academic Quiz Tournaments' National Championships in May.
In an inspiring new initiative, USN's health care career spotlight, organized by Ruchika Ramachandran ’27 and Yvonne Wang ’27, brought a wealth of alumni back to the school for an evening of shared expertise and personal stories. This first-of-its-kind event was a great example of the power of connection, mentorship, and community evident throughout the USN community.
