Our athletics booster club saw tremendous growth and new opportunities this academic year. Tiger Club helps support upgrades to our athletic facilities, coordinates concession sales, and sponsors our sports recognition evenings.
By Mary Craven Dawkins, Tiger Club Co-Chair
Thanks to the generous support of the Tiger Club members and the hard work of the Tiger Club Committee, University School of Nashville's athletics booster club has seen tremendous growth and new opportunities in 2024-2025. Inspired by the vision of a stronger athletic booster club, the team has worked diligently to develop new systems, invest in our USN athletes, and collaborate with the Athletics Department to enhance school spirit and strengthen our community.
The results of these efforts are reflected in the various initiatives that the Tiger Club managed this year:
Planned and hosted a lecture on sports medicine and injury prevention with an all-star panel of speakers.
Established the Tiger Cub program to involve Lower School students in High School events.
Assisted in growing the concessions program by recruiting new volunteers and increasing our presence at more events.
Purchased a USN Athletics app to connect the entire school community around athletics, ultimately improving communication and boosting attendance at athletic events.
Hosted a fun table at Fall Spirit Night to share the Tiger Cub spirit with our students.
Developed merchandise and created new membership tiers, allowing opportunities for direct contributions.
Purchased a spirited concessions cart to improve coverage for concessions at our sprawling river campus.
Collaborated with coaches to encourage and help establish training for team parents for each High School team.
Hosted and supported athletics during sports recognition nights each season, providing awards, snacks, and drinks for our student-athletes and their families.
To wrap up this academic year, the Tiger Club announced the purchase of a brand-new scorer's table for Cheek Gym. This new table will be a significant upgrade in both functionality and aesthetics. In addition, the Tiger Club is purchasing new storage sheds for the lacrosse, soccer, and ultimate frisbee fields at the River Campus. These sheds will provide much-needed storage for the coaches, who have previously been transporting gear from distant facilities or their cars.
We are grateful to all of our Tiger Club members this year and hope even more of you will join us next year as we continue to grow and support USN Athletics. We have many exciting ideas and initiatives planned, including athlete mentorship programs between school divisions and a color run or tennis tournament fundraiser, just to name a few. If you're interested in joining the committee, please reach out to us — we would love your help!
Additionally, we welcome any ideas you may have for future projects, so feel free to email us with your suggestions. Let’s go Tigers!
