USN scares competition, earns 1st, 2nd at SPOOKY IX
University School of Nashville High School Quiz Bowl teams faced each other to earn top spots in a tournament at Vanderbilt University. Congratulations to Lucia Gellert '27, Liam Mooney '28, Jasmine Horwitz '26, Jackson Green '26, Oren Schwartz '29, and Mason Lack '26.

Last weekend, the USN Quiz Bowl team had a successful weekend at SPOOKY IX, the ninth iteration of Scholastic Performance of Outstandingly Knowledgeable Youths, hosted by Vanderbilt University. After a long day of match play, the tournament culminated in a thrilling USN vs. USN final, with USN teams winning both first and second place overall. Additionally, six USN students won individual awards for being among the top 10 individual scorers. Individual award recipients include: Lucia Gellert '27 in second place, Liam Mooney '28 in fourth place, Jasmine Horwitz '26 in fifth place, Jackson Green '26 in seventh place, Oren Schwartz '29 in eighth place, and Mason Lack '26 in ninth place.
Congratulations to our cross country teams as they wrapped up their seasons at the state championship in Memphis and to the boys bowling team for defeating Ensworth.
