MS students, teachers meet with award-winning author

During the Southern Festival of Books, several USN students and teachers met with author Jason Reynolds at Parnassus Books.
By Courtney Brown, MS/HS Instructional Librarian

This year, during the Southern Festival of Books, Jason Reynolds, a middle-grade and young-adult author, kicked off events at Parnassus Books. Several Middle School students and teachers attended the event to celebrate Reynolds's newest release, "Coach." Fifth  graders were familiar with Reynolds' story, "Ghost," the first book in the Track series, as students read it in their book clubs.

Even though this event was during Fall Break, students were still able to come and meet the author, get a signed copy of the book, and snap a photo at the conclusion of the evening. It was a great literary event that tied to what these students are reading in their class.
