Ella Steinhilber led the Tigers with six of the team's ten goals.
Ella was outstanding in the match-up with Page High School, a team the Tigers fell to last season. She had six goals and five draw controls, most of those on fast break opportunities. She pushed the pace of our offense, keeping Page on their heels.
Although Ella and company on attack helped keep us ahead on the scoreboard, the defensive effort was the real star of the show. The team defense hasn't looked better all year and the Tigers kept the Patriots frustrated and uncomfortable. Emma Wuerth and Courtney Rabb led the charge with their ability to see the field and the foot speed to make big plays. Evy Daunic and Laurel McKay were strong and quick, keeping their attackers out of scoring position. Madeline Baxter had seven big saves on the day, most of those coming from free position shots!
This was a big win for the Tigers, both in terms of gaining experience for post season play and for overall state rankings. Way to go, USN!
