Tigers compete in the JPII Play Day

Trousdale County High School:

The Tigers started their season with a win (27-25, 25-9, 15-13). During the season opener against Trousdale County High School, the Tigers totaled an impressive 21 kills! Kiana Jansen led the team with 8 kills followed by Lindsay Hardy (7), Joi Holmes (2), Annie Weimerskirch (2), Bailey Hudson (1), and Bri Porter (1). Trousdale County found our back row hard to handle with Maggie Kidd and Jade Williams totaling a combined 20 digs for the match. Tigers played well together and started their season with a win!

Wilson Central High School:

Due to time restraints, the Tigers were unable to finish their exciting match against a very dominating public school, Wilson Central. Tigers fell short on the first set with a score of 21-25, but came back ready in the second set. USN fought to stay close the entire set and went on a 6 point run to tie up the game 19-19 at the buzzer. This match showed focus, determination, and huge strides for the Tigers.

East Robertson High School:

The Tigers competed in an exciting match against East Robertson High School. After a slow start, the Tigers fought their way back into the match. Although the Tigers fell short (26-28, 11-25), teamwork and passion were the true highlights of the match.

Station Camp High School:

The Bison from Station Camp proved to be our toughest competition yet. The Tigers didn't get discouraged, but learned how to better themselves throughout the match. Serve receive showed to be an improving asset for USN. Maggie Kidd, Lucy Kloeppel, Mary Nebel, and Jade Williams seemed to stand strong against the powerful serves from Station Camp. The Tigers finished the match with a score of 16-25 and 14-25.

JPII:

JPII was the Tigers' 5th match of the day. They too proved to be a strong volleyball powerhouse. The Tigers worked hard, but fell short in a two set match, 9-25 and 10-25. Positives from the match were kills by both Lindsay Hardy and Bailey Hudson and digs from Jade Williams, Annie Weimerskirch, Lucy Kloeppel, and Joi Holmes. The Tigers’ next match is scheduled for August 19th at Ezell Harding.
