DCA squeaks by USN in the first game of the New Year

Will Mantlo
The Tigers traveled to DCA in their first game back from Winter Break. The Tigers started out playing pretty well against the tall DCA team. This was a low scoring defensive battle for most of the game. DCA packed it in and the Tigers went cold from the floor. Myles Hamilton led the way with 8 points and Alex Bahner chipped in 7. As a team the Tigers shot 4-14 from distance and could have used just one more of those to drop. Having a one point lead for almost the last two minutes the Tigers held off DCA on several possessions. DCA finally got a post feed and lay up to go up 1 with under a minute to go. The Tigers final shot was blocked and dropped another close one to a tough team. The schedule does not get any easier from here, which will hopefully prove to be beneficial come tournament time.
