Four Swimmers Represent USN Well at McCallie Invitational

Justin Karpinos
Four USN swimmers -- Holt Akers-Campbell, McLain Gore, Logan Jones, and Michael Ng -- travelled to Chattanooga to compete in the McCallie Invitational.
These four swimmers took full advantage of the opportunity to swim against some of the best high school teams in Tennessee and Georgia.

Michael Ng dominated the championship final in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.17, only .1 seconds off his school record in the event and .2 seconds off the All-American consideration standard.  Michael was also seventh in the 100 butterfly.

Logan Jones also earned two spots in finals, finishing 6th in the 50 freestyle and 11th in the 100 freestyle, both personal bests.  His 50 free moved him up to fourth on the USN all-time top 10, and his 100 freestyle was good enough for 9th.

Holt Akers-Campbell earned two lifetime bests and two State qualifying times in the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle and posted two lifetime best relay splits.  His 100 fly time moved him up to 8th on the USN all-time top 10, and his 500 free  moved him up to 6th.

These three combined with McLain Gore to finish 10th in the 200 medley relay and 8th in the 400 freestyle relay.  Notably, our 400 freestyle relay time was third on USN's all-time top 5 list.

These four boys, along with the rest of our team, resume competition on Wednesday, December 2 at 5:30 P.M. against Ensworth.  The meet will be at TSU's Gentry Center.
