USN wins 21 draw controls to secure a win in the first game of the season.
The highlight of the game was the draw controls! USN won 21 of a possible 34, giving us plenty of attacking possessions and opportunities to score. Led by our captains, Margaret McKay '25, Zelle Jones '25, and Tate Barbieri '25, the Tigers looked confident, skilled, and organized.
Johnsie Dawkins '28 stole the show with nine draw controls, seven ground balls, three goals, and one assist on the night. For her first HS lacrosse game, it was quite the performance. Proof of the team win comes in the form of seven different players contributing to the tally.
It is common to have five or more University School of Nashville student-athletes sign college athletic commitment letters each year, and this year, USN saw eight more student-athletes commit to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. USN has several alumni participating in their chosen sport at the collegiate level from the Classes of 2021 through 2025.
