Learning to Grow

Thursday's match against the MJCA saints consisted of many teachable moments. The one that stood out most was the team learning to grow with each match. The Tigers have talent, that's undeniable. The Tigers are also very young. With almost 90% of the varsity team consisting of under classman, the lack of game experience is something that may standout to a crowd. Closing a match is something that comes with experience. The Tigers were up in the entire first set. The saints called a timeout at 21-18, which was a turning point in the set. The Tigers struggled to sideout after the timeout and lost the first set, 23-25. The Tigers started behind in the second set but were determined to close the gap in the score. Doing just that put the Tigers tied at 23-23. Again, right at the end, we just didn't pull it all together and lost another set 23-25. The Tigers ended losing the match 0-3, however, there was something to be taken from this loss. We are going to learn to grow from each match. We are going to use each match to get better. The coaching staff fully believes that this team will do great things! But the coaching staff and players also know that great things don't happen over night! We will grow!
