Congratulations on a great first meet! In terms of team scoring, our boys' team finished first with 222.5 points (more than 100 points ahead of second place) and our girls' team finished second to BA with 153 points.

Other Highlights and Shout-outs: -The Girls 4x200 (Kassim, Schreiber, Horton, Weurth) ran 2:02.45, which was faster than any of our 4x200's last year.
-The Girls 4x400 (Cour, Hall, Sherman, Shepard) and Boys 4x400 (Entrekin, Ozgener, McMillan, Higgins) stuck it out to the bitter end of the meet, and both took second place. Special props to Gavin for being willing to jump in at the last minute!
-XC/Bball-star-turned-sprinter Joshua Scretchen finished second on the team in the 100 (13.02), 200 (27.00), and HJ (4'6"-tie), and he ran on our 4x100 and 4x200 for a big first track meet!
-Lacrosse-star/all-around-athlete Lia Payne also had a big first meet with a HJ win (4'6") and fast times in the 100 (14.47) and 200 (31.50).
-Jordan Turner and Chloe Bruce blew away the competition in the sprints! Look for that to be a theme this year...
Tigers of the Week
Girls: Holly Schreiber - Holly's 8'6" pole vault was a 2-foot PR and equals the HVAC winning jump from last year. She also ran well in the 100 (14.39), 200 (30.84), and 4x200.
Boys: Jonathan Nichols - Jonathan dominated the 400 (60.79), ran the fastest 4x800 leg (2:31), ran the third-fastest 200 (27.04), and most-surprisingly (no offense) won the shotput competition (31').
On Friday, May 9, members of the MS Quiz Bowl team traveled to Chicago to compete against schools from across the country in the National Academic Quiz Tournament Middle School National Championship.
