Our women's track and field team laced up their spikes yesterday at MTSU for the 2010 TSSAA Division II State Championship, and came away with many favorable performances.
Junior Jordan Lavender won the LJ 18'10 1/4, 100m 11.86 and 400m dashes 54.90 (all new school records and clearly Division II best marks). Bailey Conner places 8th SP 31'9 1/2 and our relays 4x4 @ 3rd 4'05.1 (Chole Kibble, Jamiece Holmes, Madi Abelson, Jordan Lavender) and 4x2 @ 7th 1'49.3 (C Kibble, J Holmes, M Abelson, Imani Threalkill) posted competitive efforts. Our girls team placed 9th @ 39 points overall in Division II. "Clearly Jordan had an exceptional evening running the fastest 400m race at this meet, all divisions public and private. But it is also worth noting that Bailey Conner and our relay teams did a great job this season earning a berth to this prestigious event, and the majority of them are freshman. We are already planning to return next year," noted coach Pollock. Tonight our boys don the "garnet and blue!!" Go Tiger's.....Z
