Common Thread exhibition celebrates textile, fiber arts
Join the Arts Department for a reception for the newest Tibbott Gallery exhibit, "Common Thread," at 4-6 p.m. Thursday, November 6.
By Andy King, Visual Art Teacher
The Common Thread is a group exhibition celebrating the works of textile and fiber artists from around the country. In addition to local artists, contributors span from New York City, Chicago, and the bustling metropolis of Price, Utah.
Students and casual appreciators often lack awareness of the amazing art created in the realms of textile and fiber arts. The heart of this show is to showcase the wide variety of possibilities that can be explored with textiles and fiber art.
There will be a reception for the artists on Thursday, November 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. This reception will be a unique opportunity for faculty, staff, parents, students, and community members to meet with the artists and pick their brains. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
