TAPstravaganza 2023 was a black-tie success

Tiger Arts Patrons would like to thank all of the students, faculty, parents, and volunteers who helped make TAPstravaganza a resounding success on Saturday, April 29. View photos from the spectacular event here.

What does it take to host a successful black-tie evening highlighting University School of Nashville's talented art students and faculty? 
  • Incredible student visual art pieces? Check.
  • Outstanding student performance pieces from our youngest kindergarten performer to our graduating seniors? Check.
  • A TAP Co-Chair like Ritu Joseph (Parent of Enya Joseph '29 and Leah Joseph '24) who keeps everything together and without whom nothing would be possible? Check.
  • Amazing food provided by our SAGE Dining Services? Check.
  • Real-time painting demonstrated by Arts Department Co-Chair Trent Boysen and High School Art Teacher Chris Cheney? Check.
  • A surprise faculty number to end the celebration with Middle School Theater Director Bakari King, Band Director Kyle Barboza, Middle School Digital Yearbook Teacher John Westberry, High School Dance Teacher Caren Lyons, and Assistant Band Director Miranda Vargo (accompanied by Giri Peters '23 on guitar)? Check.
  • Technical prowess demonstrated by Arts Department Co-Chair & Technical Theater Director Jim Manning, Valentin Barrera-Vinha '24, Ebe Asfaw '26, and Ash Weinman '26? Check.
  • Fantastic, supportive audience turnout? Check.
TAPstravaganza had it all. It was an evening to remember, thanks to the faculty, students, administration, staff, parents, and volunteers who made it possible.
