In their final week of district play, the USN Tigers faced a tough 2-6 loss to BGA. BGA scored early, and though the Tigers responded with a goal to tie the game, it was disallowed due to the ball going out of play a few moves earlier. BGA capitalized on this momentum, scoring three more goals before halftime. At the break, the Tigers had a choice: give up or fight through the adversity. They chose to keep battling, despite BGA adding two more goals to extend their lead to 0-6.
The Tigers, showing resilience, continued to push forward in attack. Though unlucky with a few opportunities, Dawkins '28, supported by her teammates O'Hara '25, Crane '27, and Fierce '28, found the net twice, bringing the Tigers onto the scoreboard. Despite the 2-6 loss, the Tigers' refusal to give up and their effort to make plays throughout the match highlighted their determination and teamwork. They will look to regroup and come back stronger in their next challenge.
For the third time, the junior has earned recognition for her C-SPAN StudentCam documentary. Elected officials and a representative from the network honored her during High School Assembly on Friday, May 2.
