If you have not been to USN’s Spirit Store this school year, you are missing a roaring good time. Spirit Store Manager Grace Ann Lukach ’03 is following fashion trends and talking to customers to ensure there is Tiger gear for everyone.
“Just like Tigers come in all shapes and sizes, Tigers have different styles, tastes, and price points. Our hope is to appeal to a variety of needs in the USN Spirit Store,” said Lukach. “As an alumna and parent, I feel deeply about USN, and it is a joy to see students proudly wearing items from the space.”
Among the most popular items for sale are beanies featuring a sketch of USN’s Edgehill entrance, belt bags with the USN Tigers emblem, USN Tigers’ Croc charms, USN Tigers’ headbands, and Nike hoodies featuring the athletic logo.
“The headbands and hoodies are gone within a week, then customers start to ask when the next shipment will arrive. This shows the USN community wants and needs Tiger gear,” said Lukach.
“Our family loves visiting the USN Spirit Store this school year. The space feels reinvigorated. We’re finding trendy items to take home now and give as gifts later,” said USN Parent Nikki Younger.
The Director’s Office is sharing warmth and school spirit to faculty and staff this holiday season by gifting each employee a jacket or vest as a thank you for the work they do every day to make the school a special place.
Excited to get your own Tiger gear, show your school spirit? The Spirit Store is open from 7:30 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. on weekdays. New items are available almost every week. Lukach is excited about Lower Schooler-size cheerleading outfits, in time for
Spirit Night on Friday, December 8 in Sperling Gymnasium, and that custom-made varsity jackets can be individually ordered for High Schoolers.
“Following the coronavirus pandemic, the USN community is seeking new ways to gather together and celebrate what it means to be a USN Tiger,” said Lukach. “Spirit Night is the answer. I hope individuals and families will join us for a memorable night of games and activities.”
Look closely when you arrive at the Sperling Gym because the USN Spirit Store may be there with a pop-up shop. Lukach said she hopes to have something similar at the River Campus in the spring. Additionally, the store is open for special events, such as USN Preview.
“Honestly, we are having a blast stocking up on what I hope is something for everyone in the USN Spirit Store. I am excited about some things that have not come in yet. I would love to see Tiger gear all over Nashville,” said Director of Auxiliary Programs Rebecca Stokes, who oversees the Spirit Store.
