Girls Lose Close Match to St. Cecilia

Jason Shuster
The girls bowling team dropped to 0-2 with a 17-10 loss to St. Cecilia Academy at Donelson Plaza Strike & Spare. The Scarabs jumped out to a 7-1 lead after the first game, bolstered by some big scores; our team bowled pretty well but just couldn’t quite catch up. The second game was a 4-4 deadlock which saw us win 4 individual matches but St. Cecilia win total pinfall by just 13 pins; this made the deficit a bit harder to overcome going into the last game. Our girls came out strong in the last game, and while they won 5-3, they could not overtake the Scarabs in total pinfall, giving them the victory. Our team was led today by Sarah Manz with a 158 game on her way to going 3-0 today, and Olivia Rhee with a career-best 154 game! The girls will next head to Tusculum Strike & Spare on Monday for a 3:30 match against Franklin Road Academy, come out and support your Tigers!
