Marin Kirshner and Ella Steinhilber lead the scoring effort with three goals each.
On a soggy field at the River Campus, USN welcomed Columbus Academy from Ohio. The game was evenly matched through the first fifteen minutes of play with the teams exchanging scoring runs. Marin Kirshner had an outstanding game with three goals on only four shots, one assist, and solid defense in the attacking third. She was reliable on the cut and catch, and was able to finish difficult shots around their goalie.
Ella Steinhilber and Courtney Rabb dominated the draw controls for us with four each. Emma Wuerth added another two. Olivia Dossett had two goals, two assists, and an impressive four caused turnovers. The fight and will of the Tigers was much improved and the scoreboard was the only part of the game not in our favor.
With a bit of a break in game action, the Tigers are looking to improve defensively to keep goals against lower for the rest of the season.
