USN is outmatched on the road

Olivia Dossett leads the way with seven draw controls for the Tigers.
USN traveled down the road to Ensworth High School for a region match-up and the first contest since returning from spring break. The Tigers fought hard on the draw and were able to win the opening tip. With patience and poise on attack, the Tigers took ninety seconds off the clock, waiting for the defense to make a mistake, and Elizabeth Saum finished the first goal on an assist from Olivia Dossett. But Ensworth came back quickly and with strength, going on to score three goals in less than two minutes of game play. USN did well to make it difficult for the black and orange Tigers to score, but the speed and skill of Ensworth was too much to handle. USN was down 13-2 at halftime. The second half, USN came out stronger and more determined. The defense was making contact, staying in good position, and making Ensworth work for each goal. The second half score was 7-3 in favor of Ensworth, leaving USN well short of the win. Mary Sophia Reich and Ella Steinhilber both had three draw controls on the day, giving us more chances to score. Dossett finished with two goals and one assist, Ella had one goal and one assist, and Marin Kirshner and Saum each added one goal. Tigers are looking to bounce back against out of state opponent, Columbus Academy at the River Campus tomorrow.
