Retired competitive swimmer Shannon Vreeland visited USN to speak with swimmers.
Olympic gold medalist Shannon Vreeland spoke to the Middle and High School swim teams Wednesday, Nov. 16.
She shared with them the story of how she earned a spot on the 2012 U.S. Olympic team and won a gold medal in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay with Missy Franklin, Dana Vollmer, and Allison Schmitt at the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Students also watched a clip of the race and passed around her medal.
Vreeland visited USN at the invitation of her former swim coach, Middle School Latin teacher, Rich Rosenthal. She has retired from competitive swimming and is a student at Vanderbilt Law School.
An academic and educational leader with experience working with elementary grades in Australia and California, Kristian Noden will join USN for the 2024-2025 academic year.
At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, we will bid adieu to MS/HS Art Teacher Delia Seigenthaler, Operations Staffer Don Brown, and Head of LS Amy Woodson. A retirement reception will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10 in Gordon Multipurpose Room
