A Little Rain Can't Stop the Tigers

The Tiger harriers competed for the first time at the Dickson Invitational, finishing in 4th of 21 teams (boys) and 5th of 11 teams (girls).
In great cross country weather - rain - that produced great racing conditions - mud - the Tigers had a great day at the Dickson Invitational.

The boys raced first in a light drizzle.  Leading as usual was Wolf Robinson who would work his way up the field into 5th place by the finish.  Running a PR on the tough course was A.J. Dykens-Hodapp, as did the next finishers - Wilson Berry (the top 9th grader in the race), Pelham Bergesen, and Ted Noser.  Rounding out the varsity with strong races were Elias Woolsey, Tyler Schoenecker, and Benjamin Harris.  Despite missing their 2nd and 3rd place runners from last week, the Tigers finished 4th in the 21-team field.

The girls raced in wetter conditions but were typically undaunted.  Talia Barton led the way with a strong race, taking 11th, overall.  Zoe Light and Ella Stack weren't far behind and also finished in the top 20. Keri Friedman, Shriya Karam, Laurel McKay, (birthday girl) Lilly Woo, and Sarah Knight were all within a minute of each other, showcasing the team's depth.  The girls earned a fine 5th place finish of 11 scoring teams.

The JV runners took off in a nice downpour.  Nick Chun went out hard from the gun and was rewarded with a top-10 finish and a PR.  Also running well were Daniel Stephens, Jay Karp in his first race this season, and captain Nathan Bollen.  Francesca Kusserow did exceedingly well in her first race, just ahead of Emma Leblanc, Ariel Hong, and Hannah Laibinis.

The teams return to training for two weeks before competing at the Greater Louisville Classic in, you guessed it, Louisville.
