Placing third in the state tournament, the team also came in second in the Quizbusters Tournament, winning $3,000.
The Quiz Bowl team of Aidan Rowan, Youssef Doss, Eric Rosenthal, and Alex Morgan traveled to Cumberland University in Lebanon this past Saturday to compete in the state championship tournament. After a 3-3 record, the team finished in third place.
The All-State Academic Team was named at the end of the event. Coaches nominate players from the different teams, and the final members of the team are decided by a vote among the coaches. USN's Eric Rosenthal (2nd from left in picture) was named to the All-State Academic Team along with four students from other schools.
This same team competed in the Quizbusters event televised on Channel 58 each Saturday at noon. The team finished second, earning $3,000 from the show's sponsor, Westfield Insurance. While the final match was televised on March 21, you can still watch Eric Rosenthal represent USN in the "Students vs. Talent" competition this Saturday, April 4 at noon, and the season will be recapped on Saturday, April 11 at noon.
The next tournament for these Quiz Bowl members is the national championships held in Chicago on May 30 and May 31. Congratulations on a successful season here in the state of Tennessee.
