For the first time in school history, the Tigers defeated the Knights of JPII.
Last years meeting ended in a disappointing OT loss for the Tigers. Determined to change the outcome this year, USN had to be mentally and physically tough. Just one day after losing to Ensworth, the Tigers were ready to put a complete game together.
Mary Sophia Reich came out strong on the draw, giving us the advantage on attack. She finished the game with 8 draw controls of her own. Marin Kirshner, Nora Lee, and Kara-Jade Gordon were dangerous on attack, finding each other and getting to the net. They finished with 3 goals, 5 goals, and 4 goals respectively.
Maggie Milam had a huge game in goal with 10 saves, 2 interceptions, 2 ground balls, and a caused turnover. Skylar King led the team in ground balls with 3. Tate Elliott and Gracie Hoffman both came up huge with interceptions in the last two minutes to seal the win for the Tigers.
As part of a longstanding tradition, retired teachers and professionals from USN over the years came together to celebrate, connect, and reminisce during their annual luncheon in Durnan Auditorium.
It is common to have five or more University School of Nashville student-athletes sign college athletic commitment letters each year, and this year, USN saw eight more student-athletes commit to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. USN has several alumni participating in their chosen sport at the collegiate level from the Classes of 2021 through 2025.
