This week volunteers have been sorting the countless books that have poured into the Cheek Gym in preparation for the Fall Book Frenzy.
They group the books into familiar categories--fiction, biography, and such--and toss in a few quirky subcategories as well, all to make browsing easier. But the books that came to the sale from the collection of the late Mike Buhl are in a class by themselves.
They defy categorization partly because of their number (too many to count) and partly because Mike Buhl read everything. Even erudite USN volunteers found themselves baffled by how to sort books on topics they scarcely knew existed.
Their solution was to create a section of the Fall Book Frenzy just for the Buhl books. If you have any interest in history, politics, science, philosophy, or really anything else, check it out. The attached photos give some idea of the scope.
Fall Book Frenzy is open to the USN family Thursday, September 18 and Friday, September 20 at noon.
