AD's Corner

High school teams saw little action last week because of the retreats, but middle school continued to compete successfully, and the high school's co-op football team dominated its opponent.
MS Cross Country Meet #2 Recap
It was hot once again at the RC for the second meet of the season, and our harriers still competed with spirit. Both teams won, and many of our runners improved on their last performance.

GIRLS - Ella Steinhilber wins again @ 13'35, leading Olivia Dossett 6th 16'01, Maggie Robinson 7th 16'01, Parker O'Hara 8th 16'22 and Neha Saggi 16th 17'24 in scoring position. Lilly Woo 17th 17'25 and Hannah Laibinis 18th 17'55 rounded out our top seven. Fifth grader Lily Steinhilber placed 3rd overall 15'28.

BOYS - Timothy Hays placed 2nd @ 13'01 and teammates Alistair Womack 3rd 13'32, Clayton Jelsma 5th 13'47, Oscar Fox 6th 13'49, and Pelham Bergeson 7th 13'49 posted our team score. Rounding out the top seven were Neil Narayanan 8th 14'48 and Arjun DaSari 10th 14'20. Fifth grader Joshua Scretchen placed 4th overall 13'40. As the clouds rolled in to cool things off, our boys almost posted a perfect score.

The goal today was to work on pace and improving our weekly effort, and almost everyone delivered. Perhaps the tale of the tape was Mayowa @ 20'55 or Neil @ 14'04 posting huge PR's!

The teams will travel to Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin on Thursday to preview the Championship course.

MS Volleyball goes 4-3 on the week
The middle school volleyball teams continued to progress through their HVAC schedule. The A team and B team each played three matches last week, taking on DCA, Davidson Academy, and Goodpasture.

The girls came away with a combined record of 4-3 with the A team picking up a win on Tuesday over DCA in two games. They lost to Davidson and Goodpasture. The B team won their matches against Davidson and Goodpasture and lost at home against DCA in three games. The C team had one match on the road at Goodpasture and they won that match in three games.

Tate Kloeppel aces hole in MS Golf
The middle school golf team has continued to battle well through their season with lots of matches for our JV and Varsity golfers. The boys battle each other for low score and look poised for a great finish at the HVAC tournament. The girls are experiencing stronger numbers this year and have gained lots of valuable experience in JV and Varsity matches.

The biggest story of the year is the hole in one shot made by Tate Kloeppel and the aftermath was caught on film by Coach Matt Lukach.

HS Football Blanks Jackson Christian
The high school football co-op with Donelson Christian shut out its opponent for the second straight week. The Wildcats ran all over Jackson Christian in a lopsided 35-0 win in week two.

The team amassed 232 yards on the ground, and the defense never gave the home team a chance to get into a rhythm on offense with constant pressure all night.

Junior Sean Barrett had 2 carries in the game for 8 yards behind the offensive line blocking of senior starter Jon Leeper. The Wildcats will travel to Ezell-Harding on Friday night for their first district game of the year. Kick-off is set for 7pm.
