A crowd of about 1,500 people gathered on the May Plaza at the new 19th Avenue entrance of USN on August 10 to witness the ribbon cutting and begin the school's Centennial celebration.
After Piper Jones '08 belted out the alma mater, board president David Kloeppel, Centennial chair Teri Doochin Kasselberg '73, and director Vince Durnan cut the ribbon on the new entrance. Crowds of alumni, families, students, and friends swept into the building to admire the new and renovated spaces.
Popsicles from Las Paletas awaited them on the After-School blacktop. "Riptide," a high school band, entertained popsicle eaters.
As part of a longstanding tradition, retired teachers and professionals from USN over the years came together to celebrate, connect, and reminisce during their annual luncheon in Durnan Auditorium.
It is common to have five or more University School of Nashville student-athletes sign college athletic commitment letters each year, and this year, USN saw eight more student-athletes commit to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. USN has several alumni participating in their chosen sport at the collegiate level from the Classes of 2021 through 2025.
