Ezell's high pressure defense was a great challenge for USN, but made it tough to score.
In only our second game of the season, USN faced the tenacious defense of Ezell-Harding, challenging our guards to handle the ball under pressure. We saw some success and learned from our mistakes. These games give the team great experience and we will only improve as we continue to gain confidence. Izzy Lutes played well defensively, shutting down their sharp shooter, giving her few looks at the basket.
Although Ezell led in scoring for the entirety of the game, USN did not allow them to pull away. We were within four points all four quarters. Kiya Smith led us in scoring with 14 points. Phoebe Stern and Kailey Nichols contributed with 2 and 1 point(s), respectively.
We play our third game in a row today at St. Paul Christian Academy at 4pm. GO TIGERS!
