It didn't take the tigers long to put 2 goals in the back of the net. In the first 5 minutes of the game, Whitley Cargile played a ball into Kara Jade Gordon. Kara Jade Gordon crossed the ball to Kailtyn Rabb who finished with her first touch, passed the DCA goalkeeper. Using the speed up top, Nora Lee played a direct ball which passed the DCA defenders and Kara Jade Gordon was there to finish. Leah Fassinger was able to get involved in the attack several times throughout the game, sending nice balls into the box. The tigers had some good combinbation play toward the end of the first half with Sarah Elliott and Natasha Frontera.
In the 2nd half, the tigers came out with more urgency. In the first 2 minutes of the 2nd half, Kelly McHugh received a ball in the USN defensive third and found Kara Jade Gordon, who dribbled passed the DCA defenders and found the back of the net for her 2nd goal of the game. The final goal of the game came from a pass from Nora Lee on the right side to Whitley Cargile, who rocketed a left footed shot far post, making the final score 4-0.
Now, the tigers have a week of retreats and rest before the tigers take on BGA on Tuesday, September 3rd at 4:30 at the River Campus. Come out and support!
