Nilan Hodge and Ross Welch both reach 1,000 point mark

Two players from this year's varsity basketball team have reached the 1,000 point mark in their high school career.
Ross Welch scored his 1,000th point in a game at Mt. Juliet Christian. His points are combined between DCA and USN as he played his first two years of varsity basketball at DCA before transferring to USN in his junior year. Welch was ruled ineligible by the TSSAA, and sat out his junior year. He started every game this season for the Tigers and has scored nearly 400 points this season, scoring right at 15 points per game.

Nilan Hodge also scored his 1,000th point with his first basket on Senior Night against Webb School. Hodge has scored all his varsity points as a member of the USN Tigers after transferring to the school for his sophomore year. He played JV basketball at MLK Magnet his freshman year. Hodge was the leading scorer for the Tigers last year and has scored just over 200 points this year, averaging 13 points per game.

Congratulations to both players on their accomplishments on the basketball court.
