Mock Trial Team Places 4th

After two months of preparation and two weeks of intense courtroom practice, the USN Varsity Mock Trial team placed fourth in the Davidson County Mock Trial competition that was held in the Davidson County Courthouse February 19 and 20, 2010.
As in the past, USN fielded two teams in the sixteen team field. The teams, composed of six lawyers and six witnesses each, were matched against five teams in the two day competition. This year's problem was a construction dispute.

Caroline Awh and Katie Thorstadt were recognized as the USN varsity team Most Valuable Players; Daniel Meyerowitz was the USN novice team Most Valuable Player. The team was helped by a number of assistant coaches from Vanderbilt Law School including USN alumni Benjamin Raybin ('03) and Bobby Perry ('03).

The team is coached by Irwin Venick, father of Steven '03 and Austen '07. High school history teacher Pat Miletich is the team sponsor.
