Tigers Fall to Riverdale, MTHSSA; Gore Earns New State cut

Justin Karpinos
The USN Swimming team, after a successful and exhausting week, couldn't keep up with Riverdale or the Middle Tennessee Home Educators' Association Makos.

On a day where best times and strong swims were hard to come by, there were a few bright spots:

William Doak’s lifetime bests in the 50 free and 100 fly (the 50 free was a new Region qualifying time)
McLain Gore’s lifetime best in the 100 fly, which was a State cut and good enough for 8th on our all-time Top 10.
Allison Zhong’s lifetime best and new Region cut in the 100 backstroke
Ben Ghertner’s 100 freestyle, a lifetime best by 2 seconds
Anders Hahnemann’s new lifetime best in the 100 free, a new Region cut
Tom Coogan and Logan Jones's 400 freestyle relay splits, which were surprisingly resilient after having some mediocre swims early on
Logan Sweet’s lifetime best in the 100 freestyle.

This marks the end of the team's dual meet season.  The next meet for the team is the MTHSSA Region Championship on Friday, January 29, which begins at 12:00 noon at Centennial Sportplex.
