MS Girls Basketball - Ensworth and Page MS Recaps

The MS Girls Basketball Varsity and JV teams took on Ensworth last Thursday. The girls’ got off to a slow start at Ensworth, but played hard in the second half to cut the lead to one point on two occasions. Ensworth was able to pull away in the 4th quarter and win by 7. The final score was 28-35 and USN was led by Bailey Conner and Alexis Hood with 10 points each. Overall record:8-2

 

The JV girls’ came out on fire and never looked back in a 32-11 victory over Ensworth. The USN Tigers were led by Whitley Cargile with 10 points. Alex Miller and Sarah Elliott added 5 points each for USN in the win.

 

 

Yesterday, the Varsity and JV teams went to Page Middle School. In the JV game, we had a quick start and had an 11-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. The final score was 33-16. Scoring was led by Sarah Elliott with 13 points and Alex Miller with 5 points.

 

The Varsity game was a battle from start to finish. Both teams played a very physical and competitive game (we had 2 girls foul out). In the end, the Tigers prevailed (45-33) by having composure and taking care of the ball in the later stages of the game. The team was led by Jameice Holmes with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Hannah Stein had 11 points and 4 steals. Chloe Kibble contributed 9 points and Mallory Leeper contributed 7 rebounds. This was a great win for the Tigers.

 

Next games: Today vs. DCA (Sperling Gym; JV @ 4pm; Varsity @ 5pm), Thursday vs. CPA (Cheek Gym; Varsity @ 4pm; JV @ 5pm; 6th Grade A-team vs. BA @ 6pm)
