MS Girls' Lacrosse vs Grassland Results

Lilly Sagar

The good weather held out for us as the tigers took on Grassland Middle School on Saturday for the Sports of all Sorts day.  With only a few minutes to warm-up, we were forced to focus quickly, but you could not tell!  We came out strong and scored within the first few minutes.  It was back and forth throughout most of the first half until we broke away and led 7-4 at halftime.  It is obvious that all the girls are getting more comfortable on the field and in different positions!  We played a great second half, but let Grassland crawl back.  Our offense kept up the intensity, but we had difficulty transitioning from offense to defense.  The final score was USN 11, Grassland 9.  Although we struggled winning groudballs, we played a fantastic game and I am so excited with our improvement.  Katie Roth did a fantastic job in the goal!  Sophia Navarre and Asha Mehrotra both hustled their tails off on defense to make us successful in this game!

The scoring was as follows:
Abby Motycka: 4 goals, 2 assists
Sydney Davis: 1 goal
Sarah Alberts: 1 goal, 1 assist
Jessica Farren: 1 goal
Elizabeth Dossett: 1 goal, 2 assists
Elizabeth Farr: 1 goal
Rachel Freedman: 1 goal
Maria Allen: 1 goal

As you can see, our scoring is a team effort!  We're doing such a great job passing and looking for the open player!  Great job girls!
