USN debaters joined competitors from 35 schools at a tournament hosted by Westminster Schools. Congratulations to Eesha Nachnani '28 and Madeline Shinohara '28, who earned a co-championship in the 40-team novice division.

Last weekend, USN debaters joined competitors from 35 schools representing 13 states and Taiwan at an online tournament hosted by Westminster Schools, Georgia. Eesha Nachnani '28 and Madeline Shinohara '28 earned a co-championship in the 40-team novice division.
Charles Cook '27 and Aaron Raney '27 finished with a 2-4 record in the 62-team varsity pool. They ended on a high note with an impressive win over The Quarry Lane School, California.
Eesha and Madeline finished the preliminary competition with a 4-1 record with wins over Westminster, The Marist School in Georgia, Pine Crest School in Florida, and Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Florida. They claimed the fifth seed in the quarterfinal bracket, where they faced off against Woodward Academy in Georgia. The girls won a 3-0 decision and were declared co-champions with other winners from Alpharetta High School in Georgia, Liberal Arts and Science Academy in Texas, and Montgomery Bell Academy. Eesha and Madeline were also recognized as their division's 12th and 17th speakers.
Liv O'Hara '25 (All-State) and Madeleine Wiseman '27 finished top-20 at the cross country state championship, and the boys team — led by a top-10 finish by Drew Zwerner '28 — finished second in the state.
