An awesome game between the USN Tigers and the Ensworth Tigers. USN earned a fun, tough win in two sets: 25-20, 25-14!
The USN Tigers were pumped to play the Ensworth Tigers in the Brown Center! In the first set the Tigers were able to showcase a variety of skills – three touch volleyball, some incredible dives, passes, aces, and kills! Maddie Kim ‘31 and Clementine Meador ‘31 led the first set with three aces each, and then Kate Jahangir ‘31 and Kelliana Olson ‘31 added an ace of their own! Kate Jahangir ‘31 played awesome defense through her offense; protecting the net with two kills off of Ensworth freeballs. Anna Wolf ‘31 and Ayanna Harris ‘31 had breakout defensive performances! Anna Wolf ‘31 had an amazing one arm diving play that led to a USN point and then proceeded to connect another beautiful pass to Maddie Kim ‘31, who set Kate Jahangir ‘31 for another kill! And Ayanna Harris ‘31 played the ball with confidence and strength that led to great digs and passes to Kelliana Olson ‘31, who connected with Clementine Meador ‘31 for the kill! It was so dynamic to see everyone contributing and moving! The USN Tigers earned the win 25-20.
In the second set the Tigers dominated the service line. Clementine Meador ‘31 earned four, Anna Wolf ‘31 earned three aces, Lauren Koether ‘31 and Kate Jahangir ‘31 earned two each, and Kelliana Olson ‘31 earned four! Due to the collective serving performance there weren’t as many opportunities to play three touch volleyball, but the team stayed connected and ready for any of Ensworth’s offensive strategies. The USN Tigers closed out the second set 25-14!
The USN Tigers versus the Ensworth Tigers is always a fun game. In this match the USN Tigers were focused on the opportunity to be better each serve, each possession, and each set. With growth in mind, they found ways to succeed and earn points even when Ensworth tried to stop them. The team continues to practice keeping the positives and leaving behind the negatives as they strive to be great. While growth isn’t linear, this team is finding joy in the process and building the confidence and learning the tools to manage hardships. Let’s continue to root on this awesome team! Go Tigers!
