Students were thrilled to participate in the Asian Educators Alliance conference this year, hosted at the Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia.

The group, consisting of Aliza Ahmed '26, Uma Ehrig '26, Victor Peng '26, Ruchika Ramachandran '27 and Yvonne Wang '27 from University School of Nashville's Asian Affinity group, attended workshops over the course of two days as part of the conference. Director of Enrollment Scott Collins ‘05 and Director of Counseling Beth Eberl also attended the conference.

These workshops highlighted discrimination against Asian American Pacific Islander individuals and discussed strategies to raise awareness about common challenges. They also gave students tools to address these challenges within their community. Additionally, attendees shared personal experiences regarding these problems and how they affect them.

The conference gave members of USN’s Asian Affinity group many ideas that can be implemented in the USN community to promote a more diverse and accepting community to AAPI at USN. The conference was a wonderful and impactful experience, giving USN students a great chance to meet more students who identify as AAPI from all over the country.
