The American Classical League recognized 43 Latin scholars for their performance on the 2023 National Latin Exam. Jack Fruin '27 and Karsen Puzniak '27 had perfect exams. Just over 1,300 students had perfect exams out of the 100,000 students who took the exam this year.
Along with Jack and Karsen, 18 additional USN students received Gold Summa Cum Laude distinction, which is the ACL's highest honor. In total the ACL recognized 43 USN scholars. The percentage of USN students recognized was twice the rate that students were recognized nationally.
