A team of University School of Nashville Middle Schoolers placed first at an Austin Peay State University math competition.

On Thursday, April 13, a group of 13 USN Middle School students competed in a statewide math contest hosted at Austin Peay State University. The material covered on this competition challenged students to use content from their math classrooms and extend their problem solving skills into new types of questions.
Out of the 15 schools present, USN's team placed first overall at the eighth grade level. The team was made up of Caleb Freifeld '28 (second place individually), Benjamin Ajang '28 (fifth place individually), Lucia Gellert '27 (seventh place individually), Dylan Omary '27 (10th place individually), and Lydia Kim '28.
The top scoring sixth grader from USN was Bielle Brandes '29, and the top scoring seventh grader from USN was Greta Molvig '28. Other students representing USN were Layla Jahangir '29, Madison Rhodes '29, Lily Duong '28, Caleb Little '28, James Little '28, and Eli Whelan '28. Congrats to all who participated.
