A strong push in the last two minutes wasn't quite enough to get the win.
After an emotional start to the week, the Tigers felt their best next steps would be to be together on the field for a day of lacrosse. Donning red ribbons in their hair to show their respect and support for the Covenant School, the Tigers had a strong start to the game. Patience on attack and communication on defense helped keep the Tigers in control of the first half, going into the break 4-2.
The second half proved to be more difficult and the Tigers couldn't get things going on attack. We were held scoreless until a minute left in the game. A late push on defense got us the ball back and Julia Spessard '23 had a terrific drive to goal, getting us within one goal with less than two minutes to play. A draw control by Eva Wuerth '23 gave us a chance to score, but the shot didn't find the back of the net. The defense continued to push to get the ball back and in the process gave up a last minute goal, leaving the score as it would end-- 5-7.
