Final Races of the Season at HVACs

Overall, our girls' team placed 4th, our boys placed 5th, and as a combined team, we finished 4th
At this meet, 1-16th places scored points for the team. As such, I'd like to recognize those finishes!

We also had best times and outstanding swims across a ton of events yesterday! 
  • 200 Medley Relay: Falcon Reed, James Michels, Evan Valentine, and Jack Fruin all went faster this week than they did last week, including a sub-28 50 free for Falcon Reed!
  • 200 Free: Both Madeleine Wiseman and Jack Fruin dropped a smidge of time (2:41.61 and 2:19.89 respectively). 
    • It was also Coco Shepard's first time swimming the event for USN (I fabricated the entry time), and when there was a fight to the finish, Coco was victorious! 
  • 200 IM: James Michels dropped over five seconds for a 2:52.98 finish! 
  • 50 Free: Nora Moragno and Brianna Castro were ready to RACE and dropped over 6 seconds (36.33 and 40.20 respectively). Two to three second drops were made by Laney Martin (46.31), Oliver Burnette (44.93), Knox Followill(46.60), and Nico Sepulveda (53.68). Suzie Zhao and Rishav Reddy dropped almost two seconds (37.59 and 45.35). Norah Clarke dropped a bit over a second (39.22). Caroline Stinner and Miles Lewis shaved off smidges of time (40.58 and 36.79 respectively). Falcon Reed also shaved off a smidge, breaking 28 for the first time from a flat start (27.89). Lucas Little swam the event for the first time!
  • 100 Free: Knox Followill dropped over 12 seconds down to a 1:49.72. Melis Kurtulus and Brianna Catro dropped over eight seconds, which is incredible (1:17.66 and 1:35.10 respectively). Oliver Burnette dropped over six seconds (1:36.12), and Nora Moragno had another incredible almost five second drop (1:23.80). Devin McAteer dropped over a second (1:19.73). Jack Fruin dropped another second from last week, hitting that 1:00 mark (1:00.94). Lucas Little swam this event for the first time as well! 
  • 500 Free: Aurelia Sloane had an incredible swim, dropping almost 8 seconds from her best time a week ago. Her best time is now 5:42.75. 
  • 200 Free Relay: Lulu Rose Gilberd anchored the A-Relay with a strong 32.87-- significantly better than her best time! Devin McAteer started off the boys' relay with a 35.99 split-- a MTHSSA qualifying time on another day! 
  • 100 Back: Fia Valentine improved a crazy 10 seconds (1:44.31), and Suzie Zhao dropped an impressive 5 seconds (1:29.07-- she just needs to replicate that next year to attend MTHSSAs!). Martha Gray Sasser dropped almost 3 seconds, going 1:27.26. Falcon Reed dropped another half second from last week, hitting a 1:15.37. Harper Hughey and Elsa Absi swam the event for the first time and looked great out there! 
  • 100 Breast: James Michels dropped over five seconds (1:30.34), and Devin McAteer dropped almost four (1:46.42).
  • 400 Free Relay: Falcon Reed ed off the boys' A relay with a fantastic 1:02.53 and a fight to finish the first leg ahead of MBA's. James Michel's 1:08.70 split was also very strong.
