Homecoming Week culminates with Jan. 20 basketball games

Friday, January 20
- USN Spirit Day: Take your school spirit to the next level by putting on all your Columbia blue and garnet garb.
- 2 p.m. Pep Rally in Sperling Gym (for students, faculty, and staff only)
- 4:30 p.m. Junior Varsity Boys Basketball vs. Grace Christian Academy in Sperling Gym
- 5 to 7 p.m. Habitat Spaghetti Supper in Sperling Cafeteria (families welcome)
- 6 p.m. Varsity Girls Basketball vs. Grace Christian Academy in Sperling Gym
- 7:30 p.m. Varsity Boys Basketball vs. Grace Christian Academy in Sperling Gym
- 8 p.m. HS Ice Hockey vs. Tennessee Outlaws at Centennial Sportsplex

Look for takeovers on the student-run Tiger Pride Instagram account throughout the week and get ready to show your school pride by playing Tiger Bingo as well.

Homecoming shirts are available for preorder now through Friday, January 13. After completing the form, please keep an eye on your inbox for an email with the payment link following the January 13 order deadline. 

Monday, January 16
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day, No School
Tuesday, January 17
  • Pajama Day: Roll out of bed and head straight to class, no need for a wardrobe change. Footed pajamas, onesies, and all things comfy and cozy are encouraged. 
Wednesday, January 18
  • Color Day: Dress in your monochromatic best, wear your favorite color, or wear as many colors as possible.
Thursday, January 19
  • Jersey Day: Rep your favorite team or show off the jersey for the sport you play.
Friday, January 20

Lower School students attending Homecoming festivities after school hours must be accompanied by an adult and remain with that adult during dinner and games. The outdoor playground is closed during Homecoming basketball games. We encourage all students and families who attend the Homecoming basketball games to be mindful of our student-athletes and avoid going on the court during game play. 

Saturday, January 21
  • 7:30 to 10 p.m. High School Homecoming Dance in Durnan Auditorium: The theme is Met Gala. Tickets are $10 at the door. Students who help with setup will be admitted at no cost; contact Sam Lustig '23, Daniel Stark '23, or Kari Belle King '24 if you're interested.

  • School doors locked beginning November 27

    Following Thanksgiving Break, all exterior doors will remain locked when school is in session — as per state law (Tennessee Code § 49-6-817). All families, vendors, and other guests must ring the doorbell at the 19th Avenue entrance and present an ID to enter USN. We also will welcome Sgt. Anthony Jones and Cpl. Robert Gibson as School Resource Officers patrolling the Edgehill Campus and the River Campus.

    Support winter sports through Tiger Club

    Join our athletic booster known as Tiger Club for access to this season's basketball, swimming, and hockey games and to support all teams at USN. Membership is $100/year per household and can be purchased here. Tiger Club helps pay for upgrades to our athletic facilities, coordinates concessions sales, and sponsors sports recognition evenings. And save these dates:

    The Artclectic 2023 chairs recruited talented committee volunteers, selected participating artists, solicited sponsors, planned parties, and ensured that there was something for everyone at our annual art show.
