University School of Nashville welcomes Karsten Olson as the new head girls basketball coach. Olson joins the Tigers with strong basketball ties as a former player and basketball camps manager with Northwest Basketball Camps. He graduated from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida where he was a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Final Four team in 2015. He spent his first two years of college at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington and played on the mens basketball team.

His experience with Northwest Basketball Camps took him across the country teaching and managing basketball training in 10 different states. That experience ultimately brought him to Nashville on a two-year commitment with Teach for America at IT Creswell Middle School. He and his wife, Krista, settled in Nashville where Olson transitioned into a career in sales at Dell for the past four years. They have three children, Kelliana '31, Kanyn '35, and a younger son.

He is excited to join the PE faculty and lead the girls basketball program into the 2022-2023 season.
