USN heads to Cookeville for basketball state championship semifinals

The High School varsity boys' basketball team is headed to Cookeville for the state championship semifinals. For those in the USN community unable to join the Tigers at Tennessee Tech University on Friday, March 4 at 3:30 p.m., we hope you'll enjoy the game broadcast live here on the TSSAA Network.

The High School varsity boys' basketball team is headed to Cookeville for the state championship semifinals. Our student-athletes have worked hard this season to reach this feat our school has achieved only three times in the past 26 years.

To recognize all they have accomplished and support them, we ask that the USN community join us for the game at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 4 at Tennessee Tech University. Tickets for the DII Basketball State Championship are $12 per day if purchased in advance on GoFan and $15 per day if purchased with cash at the gate. Everyone age 5 and older must have a ticket.

We will send off the basketball team at 10 a.m. Friday, March 4 from the Edgehill Stairs & Lawn, and a caravan of spirit buses will follow the team east on I-40. The opportunity to ride the spirit bus is for High Schoolers only, and students in Grades 9-12 should check their @usn.org email accounts for the form and reserve seats by noon Thursday, March 3. In addition to providing transportation to and from the game, USN will cover tickets for those riding spirit buses. They will return to school immediately after the game, likely around dinner time. Head of High School Quinton Walker and Academic Dean Jeff Edmonds will share more information with High School students during advisory later this week.

We extend the invitation to Lower and Middle School families to attend the game too; for those unable to make the 90-minute drive to Cookeville, the semifinal game will be broadcast live here on the TSSAA Network.

As another show of our Tiger pride, we're ordering T-shirts to wear to the game and around the Edgehill Campus on Friday. Designed by Max Elliot '23, they read, "In It. Final Four. 2022 DII-A District 3 Champions" and are $20 each. Please click here to purchase a T-shirt before 11:59 p.m. Monday, February 28. The quick turnaround is to ensure this rushed order makes it to us before the big game.

Should the Tigers' success continue, they will face either First Assembly Christian School or Clarksville Academy in the state championship game at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5 at Tennessee Tech. This game will be televised on WUXP MyTV30 (MyNet) and on WZTV-2 – CW Nashville.

We hope to see you in Cookeville this weekend. Go Tigers!
