USN remembers Linda Wallis Sauer

University School of Nashville remembers former faculty member and parent of alumni Linda Wallis Sauer, who died Friday, October 8.

A longtime teacher and administrator from 1982 to 2013, Sauer taught High School biology, served as Academic Dean, Learning Specialist, and Head of High School, and returned to USN classrooms as a substitute teacher after retirement.

“Her fidelity, dedication, professional excellence, and relentless good nature set quite an example for those of us who had the good fortune to work by her side,” said Director Vince Durnan. “Her time at USN linked the early days post-transition from Dem School to the programs and spaces we've come to know today.”

She is survived by her husband Hal Sauer, children Monica Campbell '93 and Matthew Wallis '97, and siblings.

Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 15 at First Presbyterian Church, 4815 Franklin Pike, with a memorial service at 2 p.m. the following day.
