Hustle plays for the win!

Close first set, but USN was able to pull through 25-23. The second set USN stayed aggressive and won 25-18!
Another solid game from the Varsity team! The first set was a back and forth game of mini-runs between USN and Poplar Grove, with neither team gaining a huge lead at any time. USN showed some moxie and was able to keep the lead due to some inspirational plays that kept the momentum on their side. For instance, Addi King had to play back row for the first time, and had some perfect passes and a dig! USN finished the set 25-23!

In the second set the Varsity came out confident and kept up the momentum from their last set. Claire Ward showed off her serving skills and amassed 5 aces throughout the set. Uma Ehrig brought some extra offense and ended up with 2 kills! That intentional aggressiveness caused Poplar Grove to make some unforced errors and had USN winning 25-18!

The next step for this Varsity team is to stay aggressive despite the score and to play just as hard when things aren’t going their way. It’s easy to cheer, to hustle, and to communicate when everything is firing on all cylinders -- people are making good plays and doing what they’re supposed to do -- but that changes when all the little things that can go wrong, do go wrong. If the Varsity team can face adversity and win, then their confidence and mental toughness can get them through anything.
