By Jim McAteer & Chris Thompson, Dads' Alliance Co-Chairs
The Dads’ Alliance is an informal group of parents (not just dads) and guardians with a core mission to utilize our abundant resources to support and strengthen the relationship between children, their families, and USNA by participating in open discussions, school events, activities, and community associations.
Our monthly meetings are an opportunity to meet and mingle with fellow parents and engage in enlightening dialogue about the growth and development of our children. Meetings include guests of special interest such as key school administrators, coaches, counselors, students, and more. Topics range from those relevant to our academic and social environment and issues of special interest to the group.
The first Dads’ Alliance meeting for the 2021-2022 year will be on Tuesday, September 14 and is scheduled to be held outside on the Berkman Goodman Library Terrace at 8 a.m. Our first meeting's focus will be introducing new members to our group.
The following meeting, on Tuesday, October 5, will feature USN Athletic Director Josh Scouten and his staff. They'll talk about all things sports at USN. Put it on your calendar now and come ready with questions.
Chris Thompson (Parent of Sienna Thompson '24) and Jim McAteer (Parent of Morgan McAteer '26 & Devin McAteer '28) are your Dads’ Alliance co-chairs, and they look forward to seeing you as we all start the new year.
